Trump says he won’t sign Senate deal to avert shutdown, demands funds for border security

President Trump threatened Thursday to veto a stopgap spending bill unless it includes billions of dollars to build a wall along the border with Mexico, sending large parts of the federal government lurching toward a shutdown starting Saturday. His comments came after an emergency meeting with House Republican leaders, where Trump revealed he would reject a measure passed in the Senate the night before. That measure would fund many government agencies through Feb. 8, but it would not include any new money for Trump’s border wall. “I’ve made my position very clear. TOP TECH GIANTS TO WORK WITH THIS 2020

Tech companies are known for offering lavish perks, like free food, onsite gyms and doctors, and long periods of time off for parental leave. So it may come as no surprise that tech companies accounted for a significant portion of Glassdoor's annual list of the 100 best places to work in the year ahead. Tech industry giants like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft, and Apple made the list, but some of these companies dropped in placement compared to last year. Facebook, for example, fell by 16 spots to number 23 on Glassdoor's list, while Google dropped three spots to number 11 and Apple slipped down 13 spots to 84. Microsoft, comparatively, jumped up to take 21st place, an improvement from the 34th-place slot it occupied last year. Samsung confirms foldable phone will launch in the first half of the year

The best thing coming out of CES 2019 might be a product that regular mortals don’t get to see, and that’s because Samsung showcased a Galaxy F prototype to clients behind closed doors. Samsung, of course, showed us cleverly hidden renders of the phone back in early November when it unveiled some of the technologies that will power the gadget, including the Infinity Flex screen and the One UI interface that it developed with Google. But partners got to see the foldable handset in person, and it looks like they were mostly impressed with what they saw, though Samsung still has some issues to fix. A new report now tells us that Samsung confirmed the foldable phone would launch in the first half of 2019, just as previous rumors said. Samsung has yet to tell the world what it will name the Galaxy F phone, although names like Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flex have been floating around.
