Sure Looks Like Microsoft's Next-Gen Xbox Leaked on Twitter

Microsoft caught people with a small surprise when it announced its next big game console—the Xbox Series X—late last year at the 2019 Game Awards. And now, someone may have just dropped the first real-world photos of the Series X months before its official release.
On Twitter, @Doug-DragoX uploaded two pics of what appears to be an Xbox Series X, showing the front and more importantly, the back and rear ports of Microsoft’s next game console. But just because someone uploaded some pics to Twitter claiming its the Xbox Series X doesn’t necessarily mean it’s worth getting exciting about.Where things get really interesting is the second leaked photo includes a serial number for this supposed Xbox Series X, and if you go and enter that number into Microsoft’s website, it actually works and registers as a generic “Non-specific” Microsoft device. That still doesn’t mean this pic is 100 percent genuine, though it does add a bit of credibility to these leaked pics, especially since these pics match up almost exactly with a report from Thurott.com detailing the Xbox Series X’s expected ports.
Assuming these photos are legit, the Xbox Series X features a pretty familiar assortment of ports in back including Ethernet, HDMI, an S/PDIF port for audio out, a power port, and two USB Type-A ports. The one port that stands out is the long slot next to the Ethernet port, which isn’t found on any current Xbox devices, and doesn’t seem fit the shape or size of any other commonly used ports. This suggests that the Xbox Series X could have a special proprietary port for a unique peripheral—possibly a next-gen Kinect (though when we reported on such a device last year Microsoft insisted none is in development), or more likely, a VR/AR headset of some kind. The rest of the holes on the left and right of the console’s back appear to be fan grilles to help move air around. And while we’ve already seen what the Series X has going on in front, the leak seems to confirm that we’ll be getting one more USB-A port along with a slot for a disc drive. If this pic is genuine, the Xbox Series X will have a solid selection or ports, though I’m still hoping that Microsoft will include at least one USB Type-C port as well.
We’ve reached out to both @Doug-DragoX and Microsoft and we will update the story when we hear back.
Sadly, that’s about it when it comes to new info about the Xbox Series X. Though if legit leaks are starting this early, we may be able to expect even more rumors and info to surface as we get closer to E3 2020.

Samsung confirms foldable phone will launch in the first half of the year

The best thing coming out of CES 2019 might be a product that regular mortals don’t get to see, and that’s because Samsung showcased a Galaxy F prototype to clients behind closed doors. Samsung, of course, showed us cleverly hidden renders of the phone back in early November when it unveiled some of the technologies that will power the gadget, including the Infinity Flex screen and the One UI interface that it developed with Google. But partners got to see the foldable handset in person, and it looks like they were mostly impressed with what they saw, though Samsung still has some issues to fix. A new report now tells us that Samsung confirmed the foldable phone would launch in the first half of 2019, just as previous rumors said. Samsung has yet to tell the world what it will name the Galaxy F phone, although names like Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flex have been floating around. Also, we have no idea how much it’ll cost, but the phone is rumored to be more expensive than the iPhone...

Google killed the Chromecast Audio, so now’s a great time to buy one

G o o g l e just discontinued one of its best and most underrated products, the Chromecast Audio. On the plus side, the company is offering a great deal as it gets rid of inventory: you can now buy the $35 dongle for just $15 on Google’s website. Launched in 2015, Chromecast Audio was an easy way to add casting abilities to almost any speaker. As long it had an analog or digital audio input, you could cast to it. Since then, Google has launched its own line of speakers, while third-party manufacturers have added Google’s casting protocol to their own products as well. Still, there are already thousands of traditional speakers without any casting ability at all that could benefit from Chromecast Audio. As nice as the Google Home Max is, it’s no replacement for a proper set of hi-fi speakers. It’s possible Google could address this gap by adding an audio-out port to future Google Home products, but it’s given no indication it plans to do so. That’s what Amazon does with the Ech...

TOP TECH GIANTS TO WORK WITH THIS 2020

Tech companies are known for offering lavish perks, like free food, onsite gyms and doctors, and long periods of time off for parental leave. So it may come as no surprise that tech companies accounted for a significant portion of Glassdoor's annual list of the 100 best places to work in the year ahead. Tech industry giants like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft, and Apple made the list, but some of these companies dropped in placement compared to last year. Facebook, for example, fell by 16 spots to number 23 on Glassdoor's list, while Google dropped three spots to number 11 and Apple slipped down 13 spots to 84. Microsoft, comparatively, jumped up to take 21st place, an improvement from the 34th-place slot it occupied last year. Here's a look at all the tech companies that made Glassdoor's list, which is based on employee feedback regarding their job, work environment, and employer over the last year. 1.
